distances flown and driven on our trip

Some data for distances, temperatures etc.

Airmiles -  6 different flights for John and Lynn:
Calgary to Lima via Houston, Lima to Trujillo (with an extra 216 miles flown because of the stop in Chiclayo), Quito to Panama City, Panama City to Calgary via Houston: 
Total:  9552 miles

Driving kilometers -
Peru:  either 4500 or 5000 klms. (we were given 2 different totals by the driver Baldo)
Ecuador:  approx. 2600 klms.
Panama:  approx. 500 klms.
Total (approx.) 7600 klm - 8100 klm.

Peak Elevations approx.
Peru:  12,200'
Ecuador:  13,500'

Temperatures:
Highs:  35-38C in Jaen, Peru (dry heat) and 33-36C Panama City (humid)
Lows:  12-15C at Abra Patricia (damp cold in the cloud forest)

Probably most pleasant temperatures were in Cuenca, Ecuador with highs of 24 or 25C in daytime and around 6 to 10C at night.
